Experience & Inspiration

When you become a student within the Performing Arts department, you are guaranteed to attend some amazing shows. Some of these will be local performances but many will be in London's major theatres.

We organise a whole series of fascinating workshops with professional performers and producers. They come to Hills Road to inspire our students with masterclasses on voice technique, directing, puppetry and many other subjects.

We also aim to have at least one residential trip each year. These have recently included the London International Mime Festival and the National Student Drama Festival in Scarborough.

Follow us on Twitter or Facebook to keep up with our busy schedule.

Productions

The Robinson Theatre at Hills Road is a busy place. Last academic year, as well as fitting in all the classes and practical exams, there were nineteen incredible shows, all of which involved our students in every possible role.

From writing, acting, dancing and singing to lights, sounds, stage management and front of house, the full range of the theatre is open to all students.

Edinburgh Fringe say somethingXXXX

We're also closely associated with the Fusion Theatre Festival which gathers together aspiring young performers and directors with some of the best new professionals in a day-long multi-venue celebration of shows and workshops. You can find more information about the festival here.

Facilities

The Performing Arts facilities at Hills Road are second to none.

Classes are taught in the superbly equipped Robinson Theatre, the dance hall, and the two brand new studio spaces - one for dance, the other for drama. As part of the new building, we also have a dedicated technical area including a construction workshop, wardrobe and prop store.

Technical staff are always on hand to assist, demonstrate and advise.

Former Students

So many of our former students have gone on to such great success that it's hard to know where to start. Click on the portraits below for more details.
